Visa rules for German passport holders
We have checked 75 destinations for German passports: 55 need no visa, 10 need a pre-registration before you fly and 10 need a visa.
We list only the pairs we have checked against the official source. A destination or passport that is not listed has not been checked yet; it does not mean a visa is required.
How this tool works
We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

Visa FAQ
How many countries can German passport holders visit without a visa?
Of the 75 destinations we have checked, 55 let German passport holders in without a visa and 10 more only ask for a pre-registration. We add destinations as we check them.
What is the difference between an ETA and a visa?
An ETA is a short online form tied to your passport, usually approved within minutes or days. A visa is a formal permission you apply for at an embassy, online or on arrival, with more documents and a higher fee.
How often are the rules checked?
Each pair has its own check date and official source. We re-read the source on a schedule and an editor updates the pair when the source changes.
What if my destination is not listed?
It has not been checked yet. Use the official immigration site of the country, or its embassy, until we add it.
