Foo Fighters Take Cover Tour: stadium dates and where to stay

The Foo Fighters' Take Cover Tour plays stadiums in the southern hemisphere: six Australian shows in November 2026, then Christchurch, Auckland and Perth in January 2027, and Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru from February 18 to March 3. Every city gets one night, and within each leg shows are two or three days apart. Each stop has rooms near the stadium and the trip on to the next city.

How to choose your night

Each stop is one night at one venue, so choosing a night means choosing a city. Start with the city where you most want to spend time, then build the rest of the trip around that show.

Some stops work as a city break. In Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane you can stay in the centre and take a train to the stadium, so the day around the show is part of the city visit. The other stops suit a trip built around the show itself, and you should plan the ride there before you book anything else.

Sydney: Accor Stadium at Olympic Park

Accor Stadium is in Sydney Olympic Park. The rail stop people use is Sydney Olympic Park station on the T6 line, and the ride from the city is short in general terms.

The station is the busiest part of the night. Crowds leave together after the show, so the platforms and the walk from the stadium fill quickly. Eat or wait for the rush to thin before you head for the station, and do not plan a tight connection that night.

Melbourne: Marvel Stadium in Docklands

Marvel Stadium is in Docklands, a short walk from Southern Cross station, the main rail hub in the city. If you stay in the centre, you can reach the stadium on foot or by a short ride, which makes Melbourne one of the easier nights to fit into a city stay.

Expect the walk back to the station to be busy after the show. Keep your return plan simple, and leave a margin for the crowd at the station.

Perth: HBF Park in Subiaco

HBF Park is the former Subiaco Oval. Subiaco station, on the Fremantle line, is a short walk from the ground, so the trip from central Perth by train is the simplest way in.

The area around Subiaco station is a practical base for a show night, because you can walk to the ground and return without a car. After the show, the station is the bottleneck, so allow extra time for the walk and the platform.

Brisbane: Suncorp Stadium in Milton

Suncorp Stadium is in Milton, west of the city centre. Milton station is the rail stop closest to the venue, and it is a short walk to the ground.

Central Brisbane is an easy base for this night. Plan your return on foot or by train and leave some time for the crowd leaving the stadium together.

Where to sleep on show night

For the Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane stops, the city centre is the most practical base, since the rail and walking routes to the stadium start there. Rooms across the city cost more on show nights, so book early if your dates overlap with a stop.

For the other stops, the city guides on this site cover the areas to stay in Adelaide, Auckland, Christchurch, Newcastle, Townsville, Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Santiago and Lima. Choose a base close to the stadium or to the centre, and check how far the venue sits from it before you book.

Moving between cities

Most hops on the route are flights. Within Australia and New Zealand the flights are domestic, and between the Perth stop and Belo Horizonte the trip crosses several time zones and needs an international flight.

Flights inside South America connect the Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru stops. Choose flights that leave you a full day after each show, since the show ends late and the next leg starts early. For venues outside a city, check the shuttle and coach details the organizer publishes for that show.

Fan tips for stadium nights

  • Perth comes after New Zealand. Perth plays on January 25, after the two New Zealand shows, and direct flights from Auckland take about 7h30.
  • Townsville is far north. The November 7 show is about 1,300 km north of Brisbane by road, so flying (about 2h) beats the drive. November there is hot and humid.
  • February in Brazil is the wet season. Belo Horizonte and São Paulo play in the hot, rainy months, when afternoon storms are common.
