Rod Stewart The Final Encore: 2027 dates and where to stay

Rod Stewart has billed The Final Encore as his last tour: 22 shows from Dublin on April 23, 2027 to Hannover on July 24, with Howard Jones opening in the UK and Ireland. Most are arena nights. Three are open-air: Dalhalla, a former quarry near Rättvik in Sweden; Sverresborg, the folk museum in Trondheim; and the Roman amphitheater in Pula. London has two nights at The O2, on May 11 and May 14.

The Rod Stewart The Final Encore guide

Choose your night by the kind of trip you want

The tour plays 22 nights in Apr 23 – Jul 24, 2027, most of them in big cities with an arena near the centre. Choose by the trip you want. A city stop gives you a full day to explore and a short ride to the gates. Dalhalla in Rättvik is a former quarry outside the town, so that night is a trip in itself and needs more planning for the journey there and back.

London has two nights, so it gives you the most dates to pick from. Every other stop has one night, so check the table for the date that fits the rest of your plans before you book transport or rooms.

Getting to the UK venues

In Glasgow, the OVO Hydro is a short walk from Exhibition Centre railway station, which has trains from Glasgow Central. In Manchester, Co-op Live is on the Etihad Campus, so take the Metrolink tram to Etihad Campus. In Birmingham, Utilita Arena Birmingham is a short walk from New Street station.

In London, the O2 is served by North Greenwich on the Jubilee line. After the show, the station and the walk to it are busy, so expect a queue. If you can wait, let the crowd thin out before you head for the platform.

Getting to the European venues

In Berlin, the Uber Arena is a short walk from Warschauer Straße station, served by the S-Bahn and the U1. In Munich, the Olympiahalle is a short walk from Olympiazentrum on the U3.

In Prague, the O2 Arena is a short walk from Českomoravská station on metro line B. In Budapest, the Budapest Sportaréna is close to Expo tér on metro line M4.

In Pula, the Arena sits in the centre, so most of the old town is within walking distance of the venue and the bus station is not needed for the show.

Where to sleep on a show night

In London, stay near North Greenwich if you want a short trip to the O2 and do not plan many days in the city. Stay central if you want to spend the day in town and can handle a longer ride home after the show. Central rooms cost more on show nights.

In Berlin, the districts around Warschauer Straße put you on the same train lines as the venue. In Munich, the Olympiapark area is the quickest base for the arena, while the centre suits a meal out before the show.

In Pula, stay in the old town. Most of it is within walking distance of the Arena, so you do not need to plan a ride home.

Moving between cities on a multi-show trip

Many stops in the same country are linked by train, so check the rail options for each leg before you commit to a route. For the longest gaps, such as moving between the UK and mainland Europe, or between Norway and Hungary, compare flights with trains and choose the faster option for your dates.

Leave a day between shows when you can. A delayed train on a single-day gap can cost you the next venue, so build in room for changes.

Stops that fit a longer trip

Amsterdam, Antwerp and Düsseldorf are close to each other in the Low Countries and western Germany, so a single trip can take in all three. Hannover is well placed for a route through northern Germany, and Copenhagen and Helsinki can be linked with the same trip if you plan the sea or air legs in advance.

Fan tips for stadium nights

  • Dress for the open-air shows. Rättvik, Trondheim and Bergen are in June, and evenings in central Sweden and on the Norwegian coast can be cool and wet. Bring a rain layer.
  • Rättvik is a small town. It sits on Lake Siljan in Dalarna and has few hotels. If rooms run short, look at Leksand, Mora or Falun nearby.
  • Pula means stone seats. The Pula show is inside the Roman arena near the harbor, in the town center. Many seats are on the old stone tiers, so a cushion helps.
