When and where
The final is a single match on Saturday 28 November 2026 at Estadio Centenario in Montevideo. CONMEBOL's Council confirmed the city at the group-stage draw on 19 March 2026, and CONMEBOL says it is the second single-match final in the Uruguayan capital. The first, in 2021, ended Palmeiras 2, Flamengo 1 after extra time, in front of more than 55,000 fans.
The finalists come out of the semifinals, whose first legs are on 14 and 15 October and second legs on 21 and 22 October. The kickoff time has not been published. Montevideo is on UTC-3 all year, with no daylight saving.
The host city changes every year. The 2025 final was on Saturday 29 November at 4pm local time at the Estadio Monumental U in Lima.
How tickets work
CONMEBOL's Montevideo 2026 ticketing page asks fans to register their interest. Registering is not a purchase or a reservation and does not guarantee a ticket. The sale start date, the categories, the limit per person and the accessible-ticket details are all still to come, and CONMEBOL says it will announce them on its official channels.
The 2025 final in Lima shows how the sale was built. Pre-registration ran from 27 to 30 October, and general sale started on Tuesday 4 November, only on libertadores.eleventickets.com. RPP reported a limit of four tickets per user, tied to the sector chosen at registration.
Categories 1 and 2, general sale
In Lima these were the central stands, Occidente at US$320 and Oriente at US$200. CONMEBOL has not published the 2026 categories, and the Centenario has four stands, named Amsterdam, America, Colombes and Olimpica.
Category 3, finalists' fans
In 2025 the two ends were sold only to the fans of the finalists: Flamengo in the North sector, Palmeiras in the South. CONMEBOL provided the platform, and each club set its own purchase requirements and the order in which its fans were served. Palmeiras sold on 6 and 7 November and Flamengo on 8 and 9 November.
The days around the final
CONMEBOL says the final will include a Libertadores Experience, with activities and special experiences beyond the stadium. No place, dates or hours have been published for Montevideo.
In Lima the equivalent was the Fan Zone, open from Wednesday 26 to Friday 28 November 2025, 4pm to 10pm, at the Convexia Expo Center. It was free with registration and had a trophy stand for photos, a mini stadium with games, a food park and spaces for children.
The Museo del Futbol sits inside the Tribuna Olimpica of the Centenario, by Gate 13 on Avenida Ricaldoni. The stadium's site lists it open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 11am to 3pm, at 400 Uruguayan pesos for foreign visitors and free for children under 12. Tickets can be reserved online at estadiocentenario.com.uy.
Getting to Montevideo
Carrasco International Airport is on Ruta 101, east of the city. From Buenos Aires, Colonia Express and Buquebus both sell the ferry to Montevideo direct, and the Uruguay guide puts the crossing at about two to three hours; Colonia, a little over an hour away, is the other route, with a bus on to the capital. Passport rules for the crossing are in the same guide.
The Centenario is inside Parque Batlle. Wait for the semifinal result before you book flights you cannot change: until 22 October nobody knows which two clubs will bring travelling fans.
Where to sleep
Book a room you can cancel until the finalists are known. After that, the choice is between the stadium district and the sea.
Ciudad Vieja is the old town on the peninsula by the port. Pocitos is the beach neighborhood. Around Parque Batlle and the Tres Cruces bus terminal you can walk to the stadium. Tres Cruces is also where buses from Colonia arrive.
