Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

Free ETA required. German passport holders need a Sri Lanka ETA, free since 25 May 2026.

Germany is on the official list of 40 countries whose citizens get the tourist ETA free of charge, but it is still required before arrival. Apply only on the official eta.gov.lk site. The Auswärtiges Amt page (Stand 5 October 2026) agrees on the free visa and 30 days, but describes a single entry where eta.gov.lk lists double entry.
