Do Canadian passport holders need a visa for Sri Lanka?

Covers 11 passports and 80 destinations. Rules older than 30 days are flagged for re-check.

Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

Free ETA required. Canadian passport holders need a Sri Lanka ETA, free since 25 May 2026.

Canada is on the official list of 40 countries whose citizens get the tourist ETA free of charge, but it is still required before arrival. Apply only on the official eta.gov.lk site. Travel.gc.ca says a tourist visa is not required for stays up to 30 days, that you must get the ETA online before travel, and that you should carry a copy of the approval.
