Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

No visa. German citizens enter Martinique with a passport or ID card, as it is a French overseas department.

The Federal Foreign Office lists Martinique among the French overseas departments and says German citizens can enter with a valid passport, or with an ID card (see its notes). If your flight stops on a non-French island, for example via Tobago, an ID check can happen and a passport valid at least six months is then needed. The office advises carrying a passport valid for six months to be safe.
