Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

Visa needed, on arrival or online. US passport holders can use Egypt's e-visa or visa on arrival.

The State Department says US citizens need a visa and can get a 30-day tourist visa on arrival for a fee paid in US dollars cash; its page was last updated August 11, 2025. The Egypt e-Visa Portal lists the United States, asks you to apply at least 7 days before departure and charges US$30 for a single entry or US$65 for multiple entries. Cairo airport also sells a digital visa on arrival for US$36, which includes a US$6 service fee; government sources differ on its start date and payment method.
