Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

Visa needed, on arrival or online. Australian passport holders can use Egypt's e-visa or visa on arrival.

Smartraveller says Australians travelling to Egypt may need to obtain an online eVisa, and that a tourist visa paid on entry needs US dollars in cash or a non-Egyptian credit card. The Egypt e-Visa Portal lists Australia, asks you to apply at least 7 days before departure and charges US$30 for a single entry or US$65 for multiple entries; the visa on arrival costs US$30 at approved airports according to the UK, German and Spanish governments. Smartraveller does not describe the Sinai-only entry stamp, so confirm it with an Egyptian consulate before relying on it for a resort stay.
