Do British passport holders need a visa for Iran?

Visa required, and the UK advises against all travel. British citizens must apply through an organized tour or with a sponsor in Iran.

FCDO says British and British-Iranian nationals face a very high risk of arrest, detention and questioning, and Iran does not recognize dual nationality. Apply for the visa well in advance because the process can be long and unpredictable, and women and girls aged 10 or over should wear a headscarf in the visa photo.
