Visa required. Canadian passport holders need a visa, and Canada advises avoiding all travel to Iran.

Apply through the Iranian foreign ministry's e-visa portal or the Interests Section of Iran in Washington. Overstaying can lead to detention, imprisonment and fines, and Canadians have been refused entry because of an Israeli visa or border stamp.
