Quy Nhơn is a coastal city on the East Sea in south-central Vietnam, long the provincial capital of Bình Định province. Since July 1, 2025, the old city has been split into new wards, including Quy Nhơn, Quy Nhơn Bắc and Quy Nhơn Đông, so check ward names on addresses and maps. The city has about 72 km of coastline between the sea, the Thị Nại lagoon and the Hà Thanh river. It is about 650 km from Ho Chi Minh City, about 323 km south of Da Nang and about 1,065 km from Hanoi.
Visitors come for the Twin Towers, Tháp Đôi, two Cham towers about 20 m and 18 m high, built between the 11th and 13th centuries about 3 km from the centre. Ghềnh Ráng Tiên Sa has clear water and egg-shaped boulders at Đá Trứng beach. Phương Mai peninsula has cliffs at Eo Gió and the fishing village of Hải Minh, about 15 minutes by boat from Hàm Tử wharf. The dry season, March to September, suits beach and outdoor visits. Phù Cát Airport is about 35 km north-west of the city.

Is Quy Nhon worth visiting?
Yes, if you want a quieter coast stop with beaches, island boats and Cham history in one place. Skip it if you want a big resort strip or heavy nightlife, which Nha Trang offers.
How many days do you need in Quy Nhon?
Two days covers the city beach, Ky Co or Eo Gio and the Twin Towers. Add a third day for Hon Kho, Banh It and Duong Long, since each needs a morning with a driver or a boat.
Quy Nhon or Nha Trang?
Nha Trang has more flights, islands and nightlife; Quy Nhon has smaller crowds, bay beaches and denser Cham sites. Choose Nha Trang for a first beach trip and Quy Nhon for a second stop.
What are the best beaches near Quy Nhon?
The city beach is about 5 km of golden sand with a bicycle path. Ky Co is more isolated with white sand, and Eo Gio is rocky and better for walking than swimming.
When is the best time to go?
Nearby Nha Trang is driest from about February to August with rain from September to December, and Quy Nhon follows a similar pattern. Check the forecast in autumn, when storms can cancel boat trips.
