eTA required. Portuguese passport holders need an ESTA for tourism or business visits to the United States.

Portuguese electronic passport holders may visit for tourism or business for up to 90 days. Apply for ESTA online through the official U.S. Department of Homeland Security website. Approval is sent by email as a number. ESTA approval does not guarantee entry; the border officer makes the final decision. Travelers are advised to carry proof of return travel.
