Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

No visa. French passport holders can visit Costa Rica for up to 180 days.

French citizens do not need a visa for stays of up to 180 days. Stays over 90 days require a residence authorization, requested from the Costa Rican Embassy in Paris or Costa Rica’s immigration services. On entry, travelers must show a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation for the stay, and sufficient financial resources. The passport must be in perfect condition and valid at least 1 day beyond the planned departure from Costa Rica.
