Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

eTA required. French passport holders need an eTA to visit Canada.

For tourist or business stays of less than 6 months, French nationals do not need a visa but must request an eTA sufficiently in advance. Apply on the official Government of Canada website. The eTA is valid for 5 years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. The passport must be valid for the entire stay; a 6-month validity period at arrival is not required. The eTA does not authorize work or study.
