Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

eTA required. Portuguese passport holders need an eTA before flying to Canada for a short visit.

Portuguese passport holders do not need a visa for visits up to 6 months. If entering by air, they must obtain an eTA in advance. The eTA is linked electronically to the passport and is valid for 5 years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. The passport must be valid until at least 1 day after the planned departure from Canada.
