Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

No visa. Ordinary Irish passport holders can visit China visa-free for up to 30 days.

Until 31 December 2026, ordinary Irish passport holders may enter visa-free for tourism, business, family or friends visits, exchange, or transit, for no more than 30 days. The passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended stay. Complete the online Arrival Card within 24 hours of arrival; a paper form is available at the airport. Visitors must register with the local Public Security Bureau within 24 hours; hotels and hostels handle registration for their guests.
