Do Spanish passport holders need a visa for Germany?

Covers 11 passports and 80 destinations. Rules older than 30 days are flagged for re-check.

Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

No visa. Spanish citizens can enter Germany with a DNI or a passport.

Germany is an EU and Schengen member, so Spanish citizens need no visa and are not registered in the EES. The Spanish foreign ministry says both the physical DNI and the passport are valid for entry, as long as the document is valid on entry and exit, and that the digital DNI is not accepted.
