Do Australian passport holders need a visa for Portugal?

Covers 11 passports and 80 destinations. Rules older than 30 days are flagged for re-check.

Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

No visa. Australian passport holders visit Portugal visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180.

Smartraveller says Australians can travel to the Schengen area for short trips without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period, for the purposes it lists. Your EES record is attached to you as a person, not to your passport, so the system still counts your days if you use a different passport. Plan to be fingerprinted and photographed on arrival.
