The man-made cascade is made up of 80 water pumps and switches off when boats pass beneath it. After dark, lights bring out the falling water, while the sound gives this stretch of the city a quieter feel. You can view it from the canal or from Sheikh Zayed Road, where the water sits against the surrounding modern buildings. Go in the evening to see the illuminated cascade.

Dubai Waterfall runs from the bridge carrying Sheikh Zayed Road over Dubai Canal. The man-made canal opened in 2016 and extends 3.2 kilometres, linking the Creek in Old Dubai with Business Bay before returning to the Arabian Gulf.

The cascade uses 80 water pumps. Sensors switch it off when boats pass below, so you may see the water pause as a vessel moves through.

The waterfall operates at about 8pm to 10pm daily. After evening falls, lights illuminate the water, and the sound of the cascade offers a quieter pause amid the surrounding city. You can look from the canal area or from Sheikh Zayed Road; the two viewpoints place the water against different views of the city.

If you are driving, parking beneath Sheikh Zayed Road is paid RTA parking. Free parking is available under the Sheikh Zayed bridge. Mobile-device charging stations are located on lampposts near the canal.
