Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

No visa. Irish passport holders can visit Japan for up to 90 days without a visa for nonremunerative purposes.

Irish citizens may enter Japan without first obtaining a visa for a short stay of up to 90 days. The stay may be extended up to 6 months on application within Japan. A visa is required in advance for remunerative employment, a profession or other occupation, public entertainment, or stays longer than 6 months. Passports must be valid for the duration of the stay; travelers are fingerprinted and photographed on entry.
