How we check

eTA required. Irish passport holders must be pre-cleared with an Electronic Travel Authorisation before traveling to Australia.

The page says Irish citizens require a visa to enter Australia, then states that travelers must be pre-cleared and issued with an Electronic Travel Authorisation in advance. A valid passport is required, and a minimum of six months validity is recommended. Passport cards cannot be used for entry. Travel agents, the nearest Australian Embassy or the Australian Immigration website can provide further details.
