Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

No visa. Austrian passport holders do not need a visa to enter Switzerland.

A visa is not required. Travelers may use a passport or national ID card. A passport may be up to 5 years expired, but a valid passport is strongly recommended because transport and accommodation providers often do not accept expired passports. The national ID card must be valid for the entire trip.
