Chaplin's World is a museum in Corsier-sur-Vevey, above Lake Geneva, set in the Manoir de Ban, where Charlie Chaplin lived for the last 25 years of his life. The visit pairs a Hollywood-style studio, with film sets, wax figures and clips from his movies, with a walk through the mansion's rooms, which hold original furniture and family photos. Afterwards, the grounds offer views over the lake and the Alps. Allow a few hours to see both halves.
Charlie Chaplin's home above Vevey

Chaplin's World occupies the Manoir de Ban, a neoclassical mansion in Corsier-sur-Vevey where Charlie Chaplin lived for the last 25 years of his life. He died there in 1977. The estate reopened as Chaplin's World in 2016, with the house kept as a museum and a studio built alongside it.
The exhibits cover about 1,850 square metres. The grounds include a four-hectare garden with century-old trees, and Chaplin himself valued the estate for its calm. The park is part of the visit, not an extra.
The studio and the film sets

The visit opens with a short introductory film. You then follow a self-guided route through the studio and its objects. The displays use multimedia screens, excerpts from his films and wax figures, and 3D scenes bring some of his best-known movies to life.
The studio also shows recreated film sets, along with photographs and memorabilia. Among the objects are his Oscar trophies and a letter about his knighthood.
Inside the manor
The mansion has rooms with original furniture and a decorated dining room. Many of the furnishings and personal objects from his years there are still in place. The windows frame views over the lake, and family home videos show daily life in the house.
The rooms are arranged to show his home life rather than his film career, which makes the mansion a useful counterpart to the studio.
Visiting with children
The museum is set up for families. A detective-style game doubles as a treasure hunt, and children receive a small prize at the end. Lifelike models and interactive movie sets give them things to try.
The outdoor park gives children room to move between the indoor sections. Labels are in French, English and German.
Getting there and facilities
Chaplin's World is outside the centre of Vevey, in Corsier-sur-Vevey. Buses from the town centre take at least about 10 minutes. Paid parking is available on site and on nearby streets.
