Aquarium Cap Blanc

Visit Aquarium Cap Blanc near Sant Antoni, a small marine aquarium inside a sea cave, with local species and a bar overlooking the bay.

Aquarium Cap Blanc is a small marine aquarium inside a natural sea cave near Cala Gració in Sant Antoni de Portmany. A walkway lets you look into the water, where local species include rays, groupers, lobsters and baby sharks. The cave was once used to keep lobsters, and it now also helps care for injured sea turtles before their return to the wild. Families can make a short visit of it, then stop at the entrance bar for coffee, tapas or a drink with a view across the bay.

The cave is also known as the Lobster Cave. It was used as a nursery for lobsters, which were later sent to mainland Spain. Today, the natural setting holds marine life native to Ibiza and the Balearic Islands.

Rather than a row of standard tanks, the main display uses the cave’s seawater pools. A wooden walkway crosses above the water, giving you a view down into the habitat. Smaller tanks show additional marine animals.

The aquarium’s collection includes rays, groupers, sea bream, rockfish, moray eels, conger eels, lobsters, sea sponges and starfish. You may also see baby sharks. The species on display give a close look at the kinds of marine life found around Ibiza.

Aquarium Cap Blanc is also connected to the recovery of injured sea turtles. The cave’s water conditions and natural environment are used to care for turtles as they recover before being released into local waters. This conservation work is part of the site’s role alongside its aquarium displays.

A small visit beside the bay
