Experimentanium

Explore more than 300 hands-on science exhibits at Experimentanium in Moscow, from a mirror labyrinth to interactive physics displays and workshops.

Experimentanium is an interactive science museum on Leningradsky Avenue in Moscow, where children and adults can explore physics, chemistry and biology through more than 300 hands-on exhibits. Try the mirror labyrinth, magnetic displays and the Soap Bubble and Acoustics halls, or test the construction sets and optical illusions across three floors. Workshops add guided experiments and activities such as robotics. Plan a few hours to explore at your own pace, with breaks if younger children or older adults need them.

Three floors of experiments

Experimentanium
Experimentanium

Experimentanium is designed around trying things for yourself. Its exhibits introduce ideas from physics, chemistry and biology through practical activities, with more than 300 displays to explore. The museum suits families, but adults can also take part and revisit scientific ideas through the exhibits.

There is plenty to see across the three floors. The Soap Bubble hall and the Acoustics Hall, with its musical instruments, offer different ways to explore scientific effects. Other attractions include a mirror labyrinth, a magnetic arc, a tube transfer system and a chair made for sitting on nails. Construction sets and warped mirrors provide more activities to try as you move between sections.

Workshops and planning your visit

Experimentanium
Experimentanium

Workshops extend the hands-on approach with chemical and physical experiments. The programme can also include science games, magician and detective training, and robotics lessons for children.

Most activities are self-explanatory, and some displays have English text. The museum has a restaurant and a coat check. Some equipment has been reported as needing repair, so not every exhibit may be working during a visit. Advance ticket purchase is recommended, and a weekday visit can help you avoid crowds.
