Porto Cervo is a marina village on the northeast coast of Sardinia, in the Costa Smeralda. The coast was developed as a resort area in the 1960s, and the village grew up around its harbor, where large yachts tie up. Its streets hold boutiques, cafés and restaurants, and the beaches are a short drive away. Go for beach days, boat watching and evening walks by the water.

The village suits travelers who want a base near the sea more than a town with a long history to explore. Swimming season runs roughly from June to September. Olbia, the nearest city, has the main airport and more lodging, so many travelers stay there to compare prices and move between the coast and town. Rental cars are available at the airport, which helps with reaching the beaches from either base.
