Wimbledon in short

The Championships run from Monday 28 June to Sunday 11 July 2027, marked as 150 years of the tournament. The public ballot for 2027 closed on 14 September 2026; if you missed it, you can still queue in Wimbledon Park for a limited number of Show Court tickets and Grounds Passes each day, or join the resale queue from 3pm. In 2026 a Grounds Pass cost £33 in the first week and Centre Court on day one cost £80 to £115. The Grounds open at 10am, and Southfields station is a 15-minute walk away.

The Wimbledon guide

The three ways in

The Championships run from Monday 28 June to Sunday 11 July 2027 at the All England Club, and the 2027 edition is marked as 150 years of the tournament. The public ballot for 2027 opened on 1 September 2026 and closed on 14 September 2026. You cannot ask for a day, a court or a seat in the ballot: the system picks the best tickets available, and the club takes one application per household, per email address and per myWimbledon account. People who did not win a ticket can use a returns shop in the run-up to the tournament.

If you missed the ballot, the other two routes are on the day. The Queue sells a limited number of Show Court tickets and Grounds Passes daily. Ticket resale, from 3pm, sells tickets that others return. Wimbledon says it is one of the few major sporting events where premium tickets are sold on the day of play.

Only buy from the club. Apart from tickets printed with the word debenture, Wimbledon tickets are non-transferable, and any ticket advertised for sale elsewhere is void. The club also asks guests not to post pictures of their tickets, because the details can be used to sell them again.

The Queue

The Queue forms in Wimbledon Park and you join the end of it. You are given a Queue Card, numbered and dated, and you keep it until you reach the ticket sales structure. Cards cannot be passed on, and you cannot hold a place for someone else. The details below are from the 2026 Queue guide; the club had not published the 2027 version in October 2026.

Two-person only

The Queue began at 2pm on Sunday 28 June in 2026, the day before play started. Overnight queuers may only use tents for two people, and one person has to be present at all times. Gazebos, barbecues, camping stoves and fires are not allowed, and Queue Cards can be checked at the entrance to Wimbledon Park from 10pm. Stewards wake overnight guests between 5:30am and 6am to pack up. Left luggage takes bags up to 60 by 45 by 25 cm, at £5 for overnight equipment and £1 for other items in 2026, cashless.

Wristbands and ticket sales

Limit
One ticket per person

At 7:30am in 2026 stewards issued wristbands for Centre, No.1 and No.2 Court tickets, starting at the front of the Queue, and the number of wristbands exactly matched the tickets on sale that day. The buyer shows a myWIMBLEDON ID from the Wimbledon app at the sales point and pays by credit or debit card only. Entry continues until the Grounds reach capacity; after that, people get in only as others leave. The club cannot say how long a wait will be, and it asks guests to check the Queue status at wimbledon.com before travelling.

Which ticket

The 2026 price list shows how the cost shifts across the fortnight, and 2027 prices will be set separately. A Grounds Pass cost £33 on days 1 to 8, £26 on days 9 to 11 and £21 on days 12 to 14. Centre Court and No.1 Court use tiered pricing by row.

Day one in 2026 cost £115 for rows A to T, £105 for rows U to Z and £80 for rows ZA to ZF. The same seats cost £175 on day 5 and £255 on day 9. The Queue sells Centre Court tickets for the first 10 days only. The club sells the final four days' tickets in advance, so the Queue is not a way into the finals.

No.1 Court has tickets in the Queue every day, and No.2 Court for the first 10 days. A Show Court ticket also gets you into the Grounds and the outside courts, and reserves your seat for every match on that court that day.

Getting there

Three District Line stations serve the Grounds on foot: Southfields (15 minutes), Wimbledon (20 minutes, with South Western Railway and London Trams too) and Wimbledon Park (25 minutes). A Championships bus runs from Wimbledon station to the Grounds, leaving from Car Park 1 on Somerset Road for the return, open 6:30am to 11pm; the last bus leaves the Grounds at 10pm, or 10:40pm if Centre Court or No.1 Court have late play. Shared taxis with fixed fares run from Southfields and Wimbledon stations.

Public parking has to be booked in advance, with no on-the-day sales apart from the Park and Ride in Morden. Bookings for 2027 open in spring 2027, and no car park allows overnight parking. Bike parking is free in Car Parks 6 and 10.

Bags are searched on entry and limited to 40 by 30 by 30 cm. Backpacks take longer to search, and anything banned that the guards find after entry is confiscated and not returned. Visitors from abroad who need a UK ETA should sort it before they fly: see UK ETA, explained.

Where to sleep

You have a choice between a base near the Grounds and a base in central London. Southfields and Wimbledon town are the two walking bases, and the Championships bus starts at Wimbledon station. In central London, a hotel on the District Line gives you a direct ride to all three walking stations. Where to stay in London compares the main areas.

Wimbledon FAQ

When is Wimbledon in 2027?

Monday 28 June to Sunday 11 July 2027 at the All England Club, Church Road, Wimbledon. The Grounds open at 10am each day, and the Order of Play for the next day is published each evening after 8pm at wimbledon.com.

Can I still get tickets if I missed the ballot?

Yes, through the Queue. Each day a limited number of Show Court tickets and Grounds Passes are sold in Wimbledon Park, one per person and non-transferable. The 2026 page said the Queue begins the evening before and grows very early in the morning, and that the Queue Card does not guarantee entry if the Grounds reach capacity.

What do I need to buy a ticket in the Queue?

In 2026 the ticket purchaser needed a myWIMBLEDON account through the Wimbledon app, the Queue Card issued when joining the end of the Queue, and a credit or debit card; no other payment is accepted. Queue Cards cannot be passed to someone else or used to hold a place.

How much do Wimbledon tickets cost?

In 2026 a Grounds Pass cost £33 on days 1 to 8, £26 on days 9 to 11 and £21 on days 12 to 14. On day one a Centre Court seat was £80, £105 or £115 depending on the row, and No.1 Court was £70, £90 or £100. The 2027 prices were not published in October 2026.

What can I bring into the Grounds?

You and your bags are searched at entry, and bags are limited to 40 by 30 by 30 cm. The Queue has left-luggage for bags up to 60 by 45 by 25 cm, at £5 for overnight equipment and £1 for other items in 2026.

How do I get to the All England Club?

Walk from Southfields station (15 minutes), Wimbledon station (20 minutes) or Wimbledon Park station (25 minutes), all on the District Line. A Championships bus runs from Wimbledon station to the Grounds from 6:30am to 11pm. Public car parks must be pre-booked, and bookings for 2027 open in spring 2027.
