Salm Palace, also called Salmovský Palace, is a Neoclassical building on Hradčanské Square. It is named after Wilhelm Florentin von Salm-Salm, Archbishop of Prague. After his death, the House of Schwarzenberg acquired the palace and used it as its Prague residence until 1945. The building was later nationalized by the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. Today, the palace is part of the National Gallery Prague. Its exhibition spaces have been used for both permanent displays and temporary shows. The ground floor has hosted short-term exhibitions, while other galleries have presented art from the National Gallery’s collections.
