Edificio Focsa
Sight

Edificio Focsa

See Edificio Focsa, Cuba’s tallest building, in Havana’s Vedado district. Visit La Torre for upper-floor views across the city.

Edificio Focsa is a landmark apartment complex in Havana’s Vedado district, completed in 1956. At 121 metres, it remains the tallest building in Cuba. Its concrete modernist design and scale make it worth seeing from the street, while La Torre, the restaurant on the upper floor, gives you a view across the city. The complex was planned as a self-contained community, with homes alongside shops, businesses and entertainment. Go by day for clear city views or later to see Havana lit up.

Edificio Focsa

Edificio Focsa was built between 1954 and 1956 in Havana’s Vedado district. Rising 121 metres above the city, it remains Cuba’s tallest building. Its concrete structure and bold modernist design set it apart on the Havana skyline.

The project reflected Havana’s economic importance at the time. Its scale was ambitious: the complex was planned with hundreds of apartments and facilities for daily life, including shops, businesses and entertainment. The idea was for residents to find many of their needs within the building.

The view from La Torre

La Torre, the restaurant on the upper floor, is the main reason to head inside. From above, you can look out across Havana, with a different view in daylight and after the city lights come on.

Access to the 33rd floor requires long pants. The building is primarily residential, so do not assume every floor or apartment is open to visitors.
