Seven Mile Beach is a long run of white sand on the west coast of Grand Cayman, the largest of the three Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean. Most of the island's big hotels and resorts line this shore, and George Town, the capital, is a short drive south. The water along much of the beach is calm, which suits swimming, paddleboarding and easy days in the shallows.
Beaches in the Cayman Islands are open to the public, so you can walk the sand from public access points even if you are not staying at a resort. Stingray City, in North Sound, is reached by boat, not from this beach. Plan at least three to five days: enough for beach time, one boat day and a visit to George Town. The drier months from about December to April suit beach time best, while the hurricane season runs from June to November.
