Landmark

Mirante do Leblon

Visit Mirante do Leblon in Rio de Janeiro for coastal views over Leblon and Ipanema, sunset light and a relaxed stop at the beachside kiosks.

At the end of Leblon Beach, Mirante do Leblon is a coastal lookout with broad views over Leblon and Ipanema, plus part of Copacabana and the ocean. Come for a quieter pause above the shoreline, a few photos, or a drink and a meal at one of the kiosks. On clear evenings, the viewpoint is a good place to watch the sunset; early morning brings fewer people. The beach below is especially busy on weekends, so visit on a weekday if you want a calmer stop.

The view from the lookout

The viewpoint sits at the end of Leblon Beach, near Posto 12. From here, the coastline runs past Leblon and Ipanema, with part of Copacabana visible in the distance. The ocean and the city’s southern neighborhoods share the panorama, making this a useful stop for seeing the beaches from above.

Kiosks and the beach below

Kiosks at the lookout serve food and drinks, so you can pause for a bite or a cold drink while looking out over the shore. Coconut water and lime caipirinhas are among the available choices. The beach below is a place to sunbathe, play volleyball or relax by the water; it can be particularly crowded on weekends.
