A North Beach comedy venue since 1982

Cobb’s Comedy Club opened in San Francisco in 1982. Its current North Beach address is 915 Columbus Avenue. The club has moved locations over the years, and the Columbus Street room is its third home.

With space for about 400 people, Cobb’s is larger than a small, close-set comedy room. That scale makes it a practical choice for groups and for touring performers drawing a sizable audience. The schedule includes national acts, themed nights and local showcases.

The room and the show

The venue’s layout includes circular tables at different heights, cabaret-style seating and an upper-level viewing area. Seating arrangements depend on the event, so check the details for your chosen show before buying tickets. Arriving early can help your group get settled together when seats are not assigned.

Shows can include a host and an opening act before the headliner. The club also has a full bar and food service, with orders taken at tables during some performances. Service speed can vary, so placing an order before the show gets underway gives you more time to settle in.
