A store for home design
At 888 Broadway, abc carpet & home brings together rugs, furniture and decorative goods in a large Manhattan showroom. Its collection spans different periods and styles, from antique pieces to modern furnishings. You can browse items for several rooms, including tableware, lighting, linens and bedding.
The assortment also reaches beyond furniture. Jewelry, candles, bath and beauty products, and smaller decorative objects make it possible to explore the shop without planning a major home purchase. Pop-ups inside the store sometimes bring in more avant-garde designs.
What to browse
The main floor is a practical starting point if you are looking for smaller items rather than a sofa or rug. Tabletop wares, candles, jewelry, objets d’art and apothecary goods are among the things to look for there. The store also carries glasses and plates, as well as accessories that can work as gifts or souvenirs.
For a larger project, the rug and furniture displays bring together antique and contemporary options. Vintage textiles and lighting sit alongside furnishings sourced from different parts of the world, including India and Denmark. If you have a particular piece in mind, the store’s staff can help with product questions and measurements.
Planning a purchase
Prices range from relatively accessible small goods to high-cost rugs and furnishings. Before committing to a large item, ask about delivery charges and confirm the measurements that matter for your space. Swatches are available, and the store lists delivery, assembly, installation and repair services among its amenities.
The range is broad enough to reward an unhurried browse, but shoppers who only want a small decorative item can keep their visit focused on the main floor. The store is at 888 Broadway, close to Union Square.
