Muelle Uno

Explore Muelle Uno in Málaga’s port, with shops, restaurants, market stalls and a waterfront walk to La Farola and views of the city skyline.

Muelle Uno is an open-air waterfront promenade and shopping area in Málaga’s port, between the Centre Pompidou Málaga and La Farola lighthouse. Walk beside the yachts and cruise ships, browse clothing and souvenir shops, or choose from restaurants and cafés overlooking the water. The harbour gives you views back towards the Cathedral, the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro. Artisan stalls add a local shopping stop, while the path continues towards Malagueta beach. Come for a relaxed stroll, a meal by the water or sunset over the port.

A promenade between the city and the harbour

Muelle Uno
Muelle Uno

Muelle Uno is the modern shopping and dining area of Málaga’s port. Redeveloped and reopened in 2011, it sits beside the historic centre, with the Centre Pompidou Málaga at one end and La Farola at the other. The open-air promenade gives the port a different feel from the city’s historic streets, with yachts and cruise ships along the water and shops and terraces on the quayside.

From the promenade, look back towards the Cathedral, the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro hill. The waterfront is also part of a longer coastal walk: head towards Malagueta beach, or continue farther east towards the bays of El Palo and Pedregalejo, where there are places to eat along the way.

Markets and shops

The shopping area has clothing, shoe, sports and souvenir shops, alongside restaurants and cafés. Market stalls bring in local crafts, handmade goods, fashion and gourmet food. Local artisans display their work on Sundays. A separate flea market is held on the second Sunday of each month, with ecological foods and vintage clothing.

Market days give the promenade a different reason to browse beyond the permanent shops. If a particular market is the main point of your visit, check that it is running on the day you plan to go.

Walk to La Farola

Follow the pier to La Farola, Málaga’s lighthouse and a familiar city landmark. From this end of the promenade, the view takes in the harbour and the city beyond. The waterfront is also a place to watch cruise ships and ferries arrive and depart, or to pause at a terrace overlooking the port.

At sunset, the view combines the boats and water with the Cathedral and the Alcazaba in the distance. You can watch from the quayside or settle in at one of the bars and restaurants. For a longer outing, continue towards Malagueta beach after your walk through the port.
