Costa Adeje is a resort area on Tenerife's southwest coast. Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa. Beaches line the shore here, most with a promenade, cafes and hotels behind them. The resort grew during Tenerife's tourism boom, so newer hotels and apartment blocks sit near the older streets of Adeje town, which lies inland in the hills above the sea.

The area suits beach holidays, family trips and couples who want mild weather and easy dining. Siam Park, a large water park, is here. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons for walking and beach days, though the island stays mild all year. Plan three to four days, with one day set aside for Teide National Park, the volcano at the center of the island.

Costa Adeje FAQ

Is Costa Adeje worth visiting?

Yes, if you want a sunny beach resort with a walkable promenade and good hotels. It suits beach and family trips more than historic towns. Adeje village inland is smaller and quieter, and it has an older centre.

How many days do you need in Costa Adeje?

Three to four days covers the beaches, the promenade and one day trip to Teide or the north. A week leaves time for Los Gigantes and a boat trip without rushing.

Is Costa Adeje good for families?

Yes. Siam Park, a water park in the Adeje area, is a major draw for children, and the resort has calm sand beaches. Check conditions on each beach, since Atlantic swell changes from day to day.

How do you get from Tenerife South airport to Costa Adeje?

By car in about 20 to 30 minutes, or by taxi or TITSA bus. A rental car gives the most freedom if you plan trips to the north or to Teide.

Do you need a car in Costa Adeje?

Not for the resort itself, since the beaches and promenade are walkable. You need a car or a bus for Teide and the northern villages.

When is the best time to visit Costa Adeje?

March to May and October to November bring warm, dry days and fewer crowds. Summer is busy, and winter is mild with cooler evenings.
