LEGOLAND Malaysia

LEGOLAND Malaysia in Johor: 70+ rides and attractions, Miniland, a water park and aquarium. Plan your day with queue, ticket and height tips.

LEGOLAND Malaysia is a LEGO-themed resort in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, a short drive across the border from Singapore. It was the first LEGO-themed park in Asia. The grounds hold more than 70 rides, shows and attractions, a water park, a Sea Life Aquarium and a themed hotel. Miniland, with Asian landmarks built from bricks, is the part adults tend to enjoy most. Rides and play areas are aimed at children of about 6 to 10, so the park suits families best.

What the resort includes

LEGOLAND Malaysia

LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort is in Iskandar Puteri, Johor, and is one of the largest family day-trip destinations reachable from Singapore. It is more than a single theme park. The resort combines the LEGOLAND theme park, a water park, the Sea Life Aquarium and the LEGO Hotel.

It opened as the first LEGO-themed park in Asia. The site is large, roughly the size of 50 football fields, and organised into themed areas. Across them you will find more than 70 rides, shows and attractions, all built around LEGO bricks.

Zones and rides

Land of Adventure is the zone with the most for all ages. Dino Island and NINJAGO are the rides people mention most. Dino Island can soak you completely, so wear a raincoat or accept getting wet.

In LEGO City, children can drive cars and fly planes. LEGO Kingdoms is the area of knights and dragons. The Great LEGO Race and the LEGO Technic rides are among the thrill rides, which include roller coasters and water slides. The LEGO Technic coaster uses VR headsets, and these may not run in heavy rain.

The park is pitched at families with young children. Rides and games are aimed at roughly 6 to 10 year olds, and a typical minimum height is about 105 cm. A group of adults without children will find fewer high-intensity rides here than in a larger thrill park.

Miniland and the Sea Life Aquarium

Miniland is the section that works for every age. Famous Asian buildings and landmarks are recreated in miniature entirely from LEGO bricks, and the craftsmanship holds up close. It is also a good place for photographs.

The Sea Life Aquarium is well kept and small in scale. Treat it as an addition to the day, not a reason to come on its own. If you have been to a larger aquarium such as Aquaria KLCC, expect something more modest.

The LEGO Hotel

The LEGO Hotel is part of the resort and has themed rooms, including Kingdom and NINJAGO styles. Guests describe the rooms as quiet. The pool has foam bricks to play with, and the foyer has a play area and builds on display.

The hotel makes it easy to split the visit over two days, which suits the size of the grounds. The hotel buffet is priced at the higher end and leans towards local tastes, so check the options before you commit to meals there.

Planning the day

Tickets bought online in advance are cheaper, and advance booking is recommended. If you plan to return several times in a year, an annual pass can make sense. A two-day pass works for covering the theme park, water park and aquarium without rushing.

From Singapore, the Second Link crossing is the faster route and takes less than an hour from the checkpoint to the park. Parking is available on site, both free and paid. Lockers and baggage storage are on hand, and there is a nursing room. Wheelchair-accessible entrances, restrooms, seating and parking are provided.

Some rides and attractions can be closed on a given day, so check which ones are running if there is a particular ride you want. A few indoor, air-conditioned areas give a break from the heat, and rain can pause some rides.
