The NBA All-Star Weekend guide
The weekend, day by day
NBA All-Star 2027 runs from Friday 19 to Sunday 21 February in downtown Phoenix. It is Phoenix's fourth time hosting, and the first return since 2009. The NBA lists the venue as the Mortgage Matchup Center, home of the Phoenix Suns; older articles call the same arena Footprint Center.
Friday 19 February has three events. NBA Jam Session opens at the Phoenix Convention Center from noon to 9pm. The Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game tips off at 5pm MT, and Castrol Rising Stars, with the league's first- and second-year players, at 7pm MT at the Mortgage Matchup Center. The NBA All-Star Music Festival, an outdoor event in Downtown Phoenix, runs on Friday and Saturday.
Saturday 20 February starts with the NBA HBCU Classic at noon MT. Jam Session is open from 10am to 7pm. All-Star Saturday Night has the skills challenge, the 3-point contest and the slam dunk contest. The NBA has not published its start time.
Sunday 21 February is the 76th NBA All-Star Game. Jam Session is open from 10am to 7pm. The tip-off time has not been published.
How tickets work
Tickets for the Celebrity Game, Rising Stars, the HBCU Classic and Jam Session are on sale at NBAEvents.com, announced on 8 October 2026. The Celebrity Game and HBCU Classic tickets include same-day access to Jam Session, which covers more than 300,000 square feet of the convention center and has more than 40 interactive activations.
The NBA has announced no sale for the 2027 Game or for Saturday Night.
NBA Experiences, presented by DoorDash, sells the official packages at nbaexperiences.com. The single-day packages cover one event: Rising Stars, All-Star Saturday Night or the Game. The multi-day packages include each of those events plus other VIP events, and the VIP packages add premium seats, hospitality and NBA Crossover. Its page warns that resale prices for Saturday Night and the Game are heavily inflated, and that resellers often price a single event above a package.
What costs nothing
Canyons on Third is a free outdoor space next to the Jam Session entrance, with basketball activities, food trucks and a viewing area for select All-Star events. It runs for the three days of the weekend and needs no ticket.
Getting around downtown
The two main sites are downtown: the Mortgage Matchup Center is at 201 E. Jefferson St. and the Phoenix Convention Center at 100 N. Third St. The arena's own transport page puts the Downtown Phoenix Hub light rail platforms, on 1st Avenue and Central Avenue, about 0.3 mile from the arena. It lists the convention center on South Third Street as a rideshare stop for arena events. The arena has more than 700 on-site parking spaces, at rates that vary by event, and sells prepaid parking through ParkWhiz. Parking does not include in-and-out privileges.
For Sky Harbor airport and the light rail, see our Phoenix guide. If you are flying in from abroad under the visa waiver program, you need approval before you fly: ESTA, explained.
Where to sleep
Downtown Phoenix puts you next to the arena, the convention center and the light rail hub. Tempe is on the light rail line, with its lake and a student-town feel. Scottsdale has resorts and walkable dining, but it mostly needs a ride to get downtown. The Greater Phoenix guide covers all three.
