Metallica M72 World Tour 2027: stadium dates and where to stay
Metallica bring the M72 World Tour back to North American stadiums for 12 single nights between May 8 and June 19, 2027, from BC Place in Vancouver to Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City. The stage sits in the round, in the middle of the field, and Limp Bizkit and Avatar open. Shows are three to five days apart and the cities are far from each other, so seeing two usually means a flight. Each date has rooms near the stadium and the trip on.

The Metallica M72 World Tour 2027 guide
Choose a city stop or a stadium outside town
The tour plays 12 nights in May 8 – Jun 19, 2027, and each city has one night. The choice is about what the trip around the show looks like. A downtown stadium lets you stay in the city, walk before the show and take a train home. A stadium on a campus or at the edge of town puts you in a car or on a shuttle, and the show becomes the whole day.
Vancouver, San Diego, Cleveland and Salt Lake City have rail lines close to the gates, so they suit a trip with other things in it. See /canada/vancouver/, /usa/san-diego/, /usa/cleveland/ and /usa/salt-lake-city/ for the cities themselves.
Vancouver: BC Place by SkyTrain
Stadium-Chinatown station on the Expo and Millennium lines sits next to BC Place. From downtown hotels the ride is short, and it is the easiest way in on this tour.
After the show, the platform at Stadium-Chinatown is the busiest point. Yaletown-Roundhouse, on the same lines, is a longer walk from BC Place but gives you a second platform to use.
San Diego and Cleveland: stadiums on rail
Snapdragon Stadium is in Mission Valley, and the Green Line trolley stops at the stadium. Staying in Mission Valley or downtown and riding the trolley both work. Plan the ride back as the slow part of the night, because everyone leaves through the same station at once.
Huntington Bank Field sits on the lakefront in downtown Cleveland. Take the RTA Rapid Transit to Tower City-Public Square and walk the rest of the way. A hotel in the downtown core keeps the walk short both ways.
Salt Lake City and Madison: campus stadiums
Rice-Eccles Stadium is on the University of Utah campus. The TRAX Red Line reaches the university stops, and from there you walk through campus to the gates. Expect a long walk back to the platform after the show, so stay near a TRAX stop if you can.
Camp Randall Stadium is on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, and Madison Metro buses serve the campus area. Stay in the central city and plan the bus ride, or a car, rather than a walk, when the show ends.
Stadiums outside the city: plan the shuttle or car
Arrowhead Stadium is in the Truman Sports Complex in eastern Kansas City, Missouri, and no rail line reaches the gates. Carter-Finley Stadium is on the North Carolina State University campus in Raleigh, and Razorback Stadium is on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville. For these three, the organizer publishes the shuttle and parking details for the show, so check them before you book a room.
Highmark Stadium is in Orchard Park, a drive south of Buffalo. Stay in Buffalo at /usa/buffalo/ and use the shuttle or a car the organizer publishes for the show.
Where to sleep near the venues
For a downtown stadium such as Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, stay downtown and walk to the gates, with no train needed. Downtown hotels in Cleveland and Vancouver are the other options for a short walk.
Rooms in the central districts cost more on show nights, so book early once you know your night. For a stadium on a campus or outside town, a hotel near the main road to the venue or in the nearby city, with a car or shuttle, usually makes the night easier than a room in the city centre.
Moving between cities on the tour
Most stops are far apart, so the usual way between two of them is a flight through the main airports, with a car for the closer pairs. Pick the airport and the day before the show, not the morning of it, so a delay does not cost you the gates.
Check each city's stop page at /usa/madison/ or /usa/indianapolis/ for the local transport before you plan the day of the show.
After the show: getting home
Crowds leave the stadiums at once, and the last trains set the real deadline for the night. Check the operator's last-train time for your venue on the night you go, and plan to leave before the crowd peaks if the last train is early.
If you miss the last train, the fallback is a taxi or ride-share, and queues for both build quickly after the show. Have the address of your hotel saved before you leave the stadium.
Make it a longer trip
Big events and festivals in the same country around the show dates
Two nights, one trip
Stops that are easy to join together.
Fan tips for stadium nights
- Orchard Park is Buffalo. The June 8 show is at the new Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, a suburb south of Buffalo. Rooms in Buffalo or near the airport work, and Niagara Falls is about 30 minutes north of the city.
- Five stops are college stadiums. El Paso (Sun Bowl), Fayetteville (Razorback Stadium), Raleigh (Carter-Finley), Madison (Camp Randall) and Salt Lake City (Rice-Eccles) are university grounds. Fayetteville and Madison are smaller cities with fewer rooms than Kansas City or Cleveland, so book those first.
- Read the seat map for an in-the-round stage. With the stage in the middle of the field, every side of the stadium faces it. Compare the map for your date before assuming end-zone seats are the worst ones.
