Puerto Iguazú is a city in Misiones Province, northeastern Argentina, near the borders with Brazil and Paraguay. Most travelers come to visit Iguazú Falls, a system of waterfalls on the Iguazú River. Trails and walkways in Iguazú National Park take you close to the falls from the Argentine side. In the city, Hito Tres Fronteras is a viewpoint near the meeting of the Iguazú and Paraná rivers, where Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay meet.
Plan time for the Argentine park and, if you want to see the falls from another angle, the Brazilian side across the border. Spring and fall have milder weather; the falls are open to visitors year-round. Two or three days gives you time for the Argentine park and a cross-border visit, including travel between them. Puerto Iguazú is a useful base, but the main attraction is outside the city, in the national park.
