Do US passport holders need a visa for Slovakia?
Covers 11 passports and 80 destinations. Rules older than 30 days are flagged for re-check.
How this tool works
We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.
How we checkNo visa. US passport holders visit Slovakia visa-free for 90 days or less.
The US State Department's page says no visa is required for 90 days or less, and that registration in the European Entry/Exit System (EES) is required for the whole Schengen area, Slovakia included. Your passport should be valid for at least six months upon arrival in the Schengen area and one blank page per stamp. Stays longer than 90 days require local health insurance. Slovakia is in the Schengen area, so the 90 days are shared with every other Schengen country. Austria has notified temporary controls on its land and river borders with Slovakia until 15 March 2027, so carry your passport on trips to and from Vienna.
