    Doha Corniche

The Corniche curves along Doha Bay for about seven kilometres, linking the Museum of Islamic Art area with West Bay and the Sheraton Hotel. The waterfront route brings together the Gulf, palm-lined paths, green spaces and Doha’s high-rise skyline. You can walk or cycle along it, or pause by the water to watch the wooden dhows in the harbour.

The Pearl Monument, shaped like an open shell with a large pearl inside, recalls Qatar’s pearling past. Public art installations are also found along or near the promenade, so a walk can include short detours from the shoreline.

Traditional dhows run trips from the harbour, giving you a different angle on the bay and the West Bay towers. You can arrange a ride at the waterfront; some operators also take bookings in advance. Ask the boat owner about the price before setting off.

The promenade connects several places to visit, including the Museum of Islamic Art and nearby parks. If you plan to walk much of its length, consider the distance and the weather rather than treating the route as a short stroll.
