Do US passport holders need a visa for Jordan?

Covers 11 passports and 80 destinations. Rules older than 30 days are flagged for re-check.

Do you need a visa?

How this tool works

We read the official notice for each pair and record the date. Nothing here is generated; a pair with no written check is not shown.

How we check

Visa on arrival, or free with the Jordan Pass. US passport holders can get a tourist visa at the border.

Buy the Jordan Pass before arrival and stay at least two whole nights, and the single-entry visa fee is waived; the pass also covers Petra. Otherwise pay the visa fee on arrival. Check the current UK or US travel advice before you book. The US State Department's page (Last Updated May 14, 2026) asks for a passport with 6 months' validity beyond your arrival date.
