Koh Lipe is a small island in the Andaman Sea, off the far south of Thailand near the Malaysian border. It belongs to Satun Province and sits within the Tarutao National Marine Park area. Visitors know it for white sand beaches, shallow reef water and a village built around walking paths, with no roads. Boats from the mainland, mainly from Pak Bara, are the usual way in, and the island is small enough to walk across.

A beach trip here is built around swimming, snorkeling and diving, with days on the sand and early nights. Boats make day trips to nearby islands, so plan some time on the water. The drier months, roughly November to April, bring calmer seas and clearer weather. Plan at least three or four nights, and more if you want to dive or slow down for a week.
