Cosmodôme

Cosmodôme is a space science museum in Laval, Quebec, devoted to space exploration and astronautics. Space science in Laval

Cosmodôme opened in 1994 as an institution focused on public education in space science. It is home to the Space Science Centre and Space Camp Canada, which welcomed its first campers in July 1994.

The museum presents space exploration through exhibits and activities rather than displays alone. Its stations cover subjects such as planets and the solar system, while simulations and virtual missions let visitors take an active role.

Missions and activities

Virtual missions combine animated scenes with interactive tasks. The Moon mission takes about an hour, and visitors can also explore Mars. Some activities use tablets, screens and an activity bracelet to start or track tasks, so younger children may need help with the technology.

Astronaut-training simulations are another part of the visit. Activities can depend on staffing and the day: lower-level areas with a shuttle replica may not be operating on weekdays.
