Sporting Club Russafa is an art gallery, workshop space and performance venue on C/ de Sevilla in Valencia. Its long, narrow gallery leads to small studios arranged around a large stage, where artists work in fields including photography, jewellery, architecture, painting and sculpture. You can see exhibitions, explore the studios and, at some galleries, buy work directly from resident artists. The programme also includes music events and workshops, so an evening visit may coincide with a performance.
Gallery, studios and stage
Sporting Club Russafa brings together a gallery, artists’ workshops and a performance space. From the entrance, the gallery runs in a long, narrow line. Continue to the end to find small studios gathered around a large stage.
Artists, jewellery designers, photographers and architects work in the studios. The wider range of practices associated with the space includes painting, sculpture and performance. The gallery displays work by artists connected to this creative community.
Exhibitions and events
The programme includes exhibitions, music events, performances and workshops. The stage sits within the gallery space, giving the venue room for live events as well as visual art. If you are interested in a particular activity, ask about what is scheduled during your visit.
The studios offer a chance to see different kinds of creative work in one place. At some galleries, visitors can buy pieces directly from resident artists; ask on site whether work currently on display is available.
