How our guides are written, reviewed, corrected and kept up to date: one guide per question, named writers and reviewers, dated facts and linked sources.
One guide per question
Each guide answers one planning question, and we keep one guide per question instead of several that overlap. When two guides would cover the same ground, they are merged into one.
Writers and reviewers
Every guide is signed by its writer and by the reviewer who read it before publication. Writer pages list where each person is based, what they cover and the guides they have written.
Sources and dates
Rules, fees and taxes are taken from the government or operator that sets them, and the guide links to that page. Prices, opening hours and journey times carry the date they were checked. How we check has the detail.
What we do not publish
A review of a named hotel, restaurant or tour that nobody on the team has used. A price without a date. A rule without its source.
Drafting tools
We use AI tools to suggest summaries, descriptions and translations. A person edits every suggestion and approves the page before it is published.
Those tools do not supply check dates, the name of the person who checked, prices or sources.
Updates and corrections
Guides are rechecked on a schedule and when rules change. What changed is listed in the update history at the foot of the guide.
If you find a mistake, tell us through the Contact page. Corrections are made on the page, with the date, and are not applied silently.
Commissions
Some buttons earn a commission. They are marked, and they do not decide what a guide recommends. How we make money explains which links are paid.
