Caló des Moltons is a small cove on Ibiza’s northern coast, reached by a scenic path from Port de Sant Miquel. Flat rocks, pebbles and fishermen’s boathouses line the inlet, where still, clear water makes a quiet stop for swimming and snorkeling. Look for fish around the seabed, or continue along the coast to the nearby islet and cave. The cove also has Utopía, a beachside chiringuito serving fish specials and cocktails.

Reaching the cove

A path from Port de Sant Miquel leads to Caló des Moltons, passing over the coast from the main beach. The approach is scenic, and the cove feels distinct from the wide sandy shore at the port. It lies about 250 metres west of Port de Sant Miquel, close to Restaurante Port Balansat.

The inlet is long and deep, with flat rocks, pebbles and fishermen’s boathouses along the water. Wear water shoes to make moving over the shore more comfortable.

Along the coast

The clear water is a draw for swimming and snorkeling, with fish visible around the seabed. A small islet and a cave are nearby to explore. Utopía, the cove’s chiringuito, serves fish specials including sardines, as well as cocktails.

The path continues along the coast beyond the cove. Farther on, it reaches Pas de s’Illa, a strip of sand connecting to Illa des Bosc. Another coastal walk leads to Torre des Molar, an 18th-century defence tower with views over Ibiza’s rugged northern coast.
