All Saints Church stands at Grzybowski Square in central Warsaw, behind a statue of Pope John Paul II. Built between 1861 and 1892, it survived the Second World War and is known for its imposing scale and neo-classical design. Step inside for a quiet moment when access allows, or look closely at the church’s architectural details and the statue outside. Renovations have at times restricted parts of the interior, so check access before planning a visit.

All Saints Church is at 3/5 Grzybowski Square, in Warsaw’s Śródmieście district. Work began in 1861 with financial support that included a countess’s donation of her estate. The church was completed in 1892. Its design came from an Italian-born architect who considered Poland his second homeland, and drew on the Church of St. Justina of Padua.

The church survived the Second World War. Its scale is apparent from the square, where the two towers rise above the surrounding buildings. The exterior is a draw for photographs, particularly after dark.

The church has a lower and an upper level. The lower church is six metres high and was described as having room for 3,000 people; the upper church is 22 metres high, with capacity for 5,000. These details give a sense of the building’s size, even when renovation work limits which areas you can enter.

Daily Mass is held here. If you arrive during a service, give worshippers space and keep noise to a minimum. Renovation work has previously blocked access to parts of the interior, so check conditions before setting aside time to explore inside.
