Oasi Biderosa is a protected coastal reserve on Sardinia’s Gulf of Orosei, near Orosei. Five coves and a pond sit among Mediterranean scrub, pine trees, junipers and holm oaks. The beaches have soft sand and clear, shallow water for swimming and snorkeling, with natural granite along the coast. You can walk through the reserve, bring a picnic and take in the lagoons, where flamingos are sometimes seen. Plan your transport ahead: parking is limited, and a shuttle is available for the journey to the beaches.
A protected coast of coves and lagoons

Oasi Biderosa lies on the eastern coast of Sardinia, close to Orosei. Its protected landscape includes five coves, a pond and stretches of Mediterranean scrub. Along the shore, natural granite meets soft sand and clear water. The shallow areas are suited to families with children, and the water is clear enough for snorkeling.
The Gulf of Orosei extends along Sardinia’s east coast, between Orosei to the north and Arbatax to the south. Much of the coastline is within the Parco Nazionale del Golfo di Orosei e del Gennargentu, established in 1998. The wider park also includes the Supramonte plateau and the Gennargentu mountain range.
Pine forest, scrub and coastal wildlife

Paths cross dunes and Mediterranean vegetation, including pines, junipers, holm oaks, cork oaks and Mediterranean dwarf palms. Lagoons form part of the landscape, and flamingos can be seen there. The reserve also has olive groves and stands of old trees.
Walking is one way to explore the area; visitors can also travel through the pine forest and olive groves by electric mountain bike. A picnic lets you pause between the coves and paths. Bring what you need for your time outdoors, and plan your route and transport before arriving.
